Young Investigator

 

Introduction

The Young Investigator Award is conferred to a young European paediatrician, not older than 40 years of age by the end of the year in which the Award is given, in recognition of his or her scientific publications.

The award is given on the basis of a selection from submissions received from applicants.

The deadline for applications is 15 January each year.

How to apply

An applicant must submit the following information in electronic format:

  • three original papers, published or accepted for publication, in international peer-reviewed journals. The candidates should be the first author of at least one of the papers.
  • an up-to-date CV and a list of publications.

Regulations

  • All applicants must be sponsored by two members of ESPE.
  • Sponsoring members must prepare a nomination proposal for their applicant which highlights the research contributions made by the submitted papers and the essential role of the applicant in the research projects.

Eligibility

Applicants must be practising paediatricians resident in a European country, not older than 40 years of age by the end of the year in which the Award is given.

The final decision is based on the overall quality of both the candidate's CV, and especially on the three original publications submitted by each applicant.

All applications must be submitted electronically to the ESPE Secretariat at espe@bioscientifica.com.

Failure to submit applications electronically may result in delays to the process.

All applications will be acknowledged by email. A quick decision will be made and applicants will be notified by the Secretary within one month of the deadline date.
