ESPE Science School (ESS)

ESS is made possible by the generous support of Pfizer Health Care.

ESS is aimed at aspiring young investigators in paediatric endocrinology - a unique opportunity for research skills development.

For four days in May, an international faculty of about 25 teachers and 25 students, the ESS scientific programme includes core topics, such as scientific writing, presentation skills, epidemiology, applying for grants and career development and new research concepts, with the topic changing every year. In-depth discussions, within and outside the programme, help establish contact between younger and older scientists. The 2013 topic is Human Evolution and Child Health2013 ESS programme (pdf) (530kb)

Aimed at final year PhD students, postdoc fellows or research active young paediatric endocrine investigators (who are within 10 years of their PhD or fellowship), the ESS faculty consists of some of the world's top scientists from among the NICHe Conference speakers and senior ESPE members.

Calls for applications are announced annually at the annual ESPE meeting.

The 2013 Science School will take place from 9 to 12 May 2013 in Haifa, Israel. Applications are to be submitted by 10 December 2012.
