Accreditation and Syllabus Convenor vacancy

Applications are now invited from all ESPE members for the position of Accreditation and Syllabus Convenor, to sit on the Education and Training Committee. The 3-year appointment will start in June 2019 and the vacancy has arisen as a result of the end of the term of office of Andrea Lusczay.

The ESPE Accreditation and Syllabus Committee aims to harmonise paediatric endocrine training in European countries and the programme’s objective is the accreditation of European centres and certification of fellows. The revisions to the ESPE Training Programme Syllabus were approved by the European Academy of Paediatrics (EAP) in 2013 and needs further updates. The aim for the Education and Training Committee is for the ESPE Training Programme Syllabus to be implemented at national levels of European countries, including the expansion of the programme among centres and fellows.

The convenor will take overall responsibility for the programme update with the support of their colleagues on the Education and Training Committee. As a member of the Education & Training Committee, the Accreditation and Syllabus Convenor will be expected to:

  • Attend quarterly meetings (2 face-to-face (including once at the ESPE Annual Meeting) and 2 by teleconference each year)
  • Contribute to ongoing discussions via email throughout the year within the remit of the Education and Training Committee
  • Attend EAP Meetings annually as the liaison officer for ESPE
