Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism School Steering Committee Vacancy Position: Member
Deadline 31 October 2018
We are seeking applications from ESPE members for the position of member of the ESPE Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism School Steering Committee. The vacancy has arisen due to current member, Wieland Kiess, completing his term of office. The three-year appointment will start in December 2018.
The main task of the Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism School Steering Committee is to develop the programme for the School and participate in the evaluation of applicants. The successful applicant is expected to attend and participate actively in the Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism School, which usually takes place immediately after the Annual Meeting. He/she will teach and be involved in mentoring the students. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet and impart your knowledge to paediatricians from across the world, while gaining valuable experience of different professional practices, cultures and teaching styles.
Applicants should have a wide knowledge of published literature in paediatric diabetes, obesity and metabolism in general and detailed knowledge in more than one specific area. Preference will be given to candidates whose interests are complementary to those of the current members of the steering committee.
The workload consists of email communication and preparation work, attendance at the Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism School, evaluation of submitted applications, and face to face steering committee meetings every year (during the School).
The appointment will be made by the ESPE Council following recommendation by the Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism School Steering Committee.
