We are delighted to announce that Dr. Kay Miller, FCMI, CMgr has been appointed as ESPE Chief Executive Officer. Her leadership and expertise mark an exciting new chapter for our Society.
Kay is an experienced leader in the scientific and medical international charity sector, with over 25 years of experience, including 22 years dedicated to medical membership organisations. She has held significant roles, including CEO of the Healthcare Infection Society (HIS), Interim Managing Director of the Infection Prevention Society (IPS), and Strategy and Governance Consultant for the International Society for Respiratory Viruses (ISRV).
Kay’s career is marked by her expertise in managing organisational efficiency, developing strategic plans, and leading teams to achieve transformational success. Kay has she transitioned organisations from being volunteer-led to having a fully staffed team, rebranded, launched new educational activities, digital resources and an Open Access journal. Her leadership resulted in significant improvements in membership numbers and engagement, financial stability, and operational efficiency.
In addition to her strategic leadership, Kay has a strong background in governance, financial management, membership growth and retention and team development. She has successfully led governance reviews, financial audits, and the launch of new income-generating initiatives.
Kay’s passion for education and professional development has driven her to create and implement many successful educational programs for nurses, trainees and consultants. Her dedication to supporting medical and academic communities has been reflected throughout her career.
