Background: We are seeking applications from the ESPE membership for the position on the ESPE Maghreb School Steering Committee coordinator. The vacancy has arisen due to the current coordinator, Asmahane Ladjouze completing their terms of office.

Main Responsibilities: The primary task of the Maghreb School Committee is to develop the programme for the Maghreb School and participate in the evaluation of applicants. Successful applicants are expected to attend and actively participate in the Maghreb School, teach, and mentor the students

The Coordinator will have overall responsibility for

  • the output of the Steering Committee, chairing the annual face-to-face meeting which takes place during the School and liaising with the local organiser, participants, faculty, Maghreb School Committee, MCI and ESPE Council.
  • providing content for the ESPE website and the ESPE Newsletter, writing a yearly report in English and presenting an oral report at the annual ESPE meeting. 

Qualifications:

  • Wide knowledge of published literature in paediatric endocrinology in general.
  • Detailed knowledge in more than one specific area of paediatric endocrinology.
  • Fluency in French, as the Maghreb School is taught in French.
  • Preference will be given to candidates whose interests complement those of the current members of the steering committee.

Workload:

  • Email communication and preparation work.
  • Attendance at the Maghreb School.
  • Evaluation of submitted applications.
  • Face-to-face steering committee meetings every year during the Maghreb School.
  • Logistics of the school organisation (venue, hotel, transport, preparing a budget for ESPE Council)

Appointment: The appointment will be made by the ESPE Council following a recommendation by the Maghreb School Steering Committee. Before starting the role, the newly appointed coordinator will shadow the outgoing coordinator.
