This month, I would like to highlight the upcoming 62nd ESPE Annual Meeting in November – the early bird registration deadline is 12 August, so you still have plenty of time to register at a discounted rate.
Remember, ESPE Members benefit from free access to ESPE 2024 content on-demand after the Annual Meeting. To become an ESPE member, please visit the membership page.
Late-breaking abstracts are also now open for abstracts that highlight novel data – make sure to submit by 15 July. You can find abstract guidelines and submission criteria on the website.
The ESPE Clinical Fellowship promotes the development of patient care, clinical management and clinical research in Paediatric Endocrinology through a training programme in a reputed European Clinical centre. The application deadline is coming up so ensure to submit your application before 15 July.
The ESPE Visiting Professorship of Rare Diseases grant is for mid-career or established paediatric endocrinologists. It aims to support scientific renewal, and the development and maintenance of long-term partnerships that result in new projects. Three grants are available per year, each for a maximum value of €15, 000. Apply by 15 September to be in with the opportunity to benefit from one of these grants.
The next ESPE Connect webinar will be held on 17 October and will focus on rare thyroid conditions. Please save the date and check the website and social media for registration information in the coming weeks.
Remember, we have an excellent educational resource in the ESPE-ISPAD e-learning platform. This interactive learning environment is free-of-charge and includes several chapters based on learning categories of paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. It contains over 200 core and advanced level learning modules, chapters, and problem-solving cases on normal development, pathophysiological mechanisms, and current views on diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
I would like to highlight some of our sister associations’ upcoming events, including the Endocrine Genetic Testing 2024 training event in September, and Reproductive Endocrinology 2024 course in December from the Society for Endocrinology, as well as the 50th Annual ISPAD Conference on 16-19 October, and the 10th Conference of the European Academy of Paediatric Societies on 17-20 October.
All the very best,
Anita Hokken-Koelega
ESPE President
