Postponement FAQs

Please find below a list of frequently asked questions regarding your attendance of ESPE 2020. If you have a question that is not covered below, please contact the ESPE Meeting Team at:


Why is ESPE 2020 postponed?

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has become a global issue. We understand that many of you will be on the front line fighting this virus in your hospitals and clinics, and worrying for the health of your families and friends, as well as your patients.

We have been carefully monitoring the developing situation with COVID-19 and recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as national and local governments to assess and address the potential consequences and concerns of the paediatric endocrine community arising from this situation.

The dedicated ESPE Working Group, set up to evaluate the options, has decided that the health, safety, and well-being of our delegates, staff, exhibitors, speakers and other stakeholders is of paramount importance and therefore it is in the best interest of everyone to postpone the Meeting.

What is the new date for the ESPE Annual Meeting?

The ESPE Meeting Team is working with the ACC in Liverpool to find a suitable date in 2021 to reschedule the Meeting. Once the date is confirmed the ESPE 2020 website will be updated with this information. Please be patient with us during this time.

Will the ESPE Annual Meeting still take place in Liverpool?

Yes, the ESPE Annual Meeting will still take place at the ACC in Liverpool.



What will happen to my delegate registration?

In response to this unique situation, our leadership is adjusting our policy for this one year only. If you have already registered, you may:

  1. Defer your registration to 2021
    If you are able, we would really appreciate you deferring your registration to the new date in 2021 (the dates for ESPE 2021 are in the process of being finalised). By deferring your registration, you will not be subject to any fee increase for the 2021 Meeting.
  2. Request a refund
    If you would like a refund, please let us email us

Will attendees be refunded for airline tickets or other travel bookings already made?

No, we will not refund the cost of individual travel bookings. Please contact your airline or travel provider directly regarding ticket cancellations. If you purchased travel insurance, please contact your provider for information and next steps.

Will any sessions be made available virtually ?

The ESPE 2020 Programme Organising Committee are working hard on a possible virtual learning solution to disseminate the key updates in the industry that they feel would be most beneficial to share. Please check the ESPE 2020 website regularly for updates.


What happens if I have already submitted an abstract?

The Programme Organising Committee will discuss this and the ESPE 2020 website will be updated once a decision has been reached.


What happens if I was due to speak at ESPE 2020?

I have already received approval for and begun planning my satellite symposium. Will I need to go through the approval process again?

Once the rescheduled Meeting dates are confirmed, an updated technical manual will be provided to all satellite sponsors, including an updated list of dates and deadlines. If the content and speakers listed in your approved proposal remain the same you will simply need to confirm this to the ESPE Meeting Team. Any changes to speakers or updates to content will need to be resubmitted to the POC for review and approval, in accordance with the relevant updated deadlines.

I have already submitted my company logo and profile – do I need to do this again?

As long as you do not have any updates or changes to the logo or profile you do not need to resubmit this however you are welcome to do so if you wish.

Do I still need to stick to the current deadlines outlined in the satellite and exhibitor technical manuals?

No. Once new meeting dates are confirmed, the manuals will be updated with new dates and deadlines and recirculated to all sponsors and exhibitors. However, if you have items ready for review and approval prior to the new deadlines please feel free to send these to the ESPE Meeting Team.

Will the exhibition layout change/do I need to re-select my stand space?

No. The exhibition floorplan and all stand selections will be carried over to the new date.

Will all the supplier details and contact information remain the same?


I have a stand/sponsorship items booked for ESPE 2020, can these be changed?

It may be possible to make changes, please email Jo Eade in the ESPE Corporate Relations Team at to discuss your requirements.

I have already booked (and paid for) some services from the suppliers listed in the technical manuals. What will happen with these bookings?

All bookings will be honoured and transferred to the new Meeting date at no additional cost.
