ESPE Liverpool

07 - 09 May

The 59th Annual ESPE Meeting will be held in Liverpool.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

As you may be aware, the ESPE 2020 Meeting, which was due to take place in Liverpool, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been incredibly fortunate that the venue have been able to accommodate a new date for us, which is so close to the original Copenhagen meeting date. Therefore, we are delighted to invite you to the 59th Annual ESPE Meeting to be held in Liverpool, UK, from 7-9 May 2021. To confirm, the Copenhagen meeting is being rescheduled to a later year and more details will be released in due course.

Our theme for the 59th ESPE Meeting in Liverpool is Lifelong endocrine care through collaboration, discovery and innovation.

Many of the conditions that we treat in children are going to affect them for the rest of their lives, and the focus of the meeting will, therefore, reflect lifelong care. We will also focus on some of the exciting discoveries made in genetic/genomic research that is ongoing, and these will lead to innovative approaches that will change the way we look after our patients. Most importantly, the meeting will be about friendships, networking and collaboration – both new and existing.

The programme will, as usual, include Plenary and Symposia lectures by stellar international speakers, Meet-the-Expert and How Do I… sessions by practising clinicians who are world leaders in their fields, a Novel Advances session and Controversy sessions designed to make us re-evaluate the way we think and work. Free Communications and Rapid Free Communications will allow both experienced colleagues and their younger trainees the opportunity to present their work in oral sessions, and there will be ample opportunities for further presentations and discussion in the poster sessions, which will include both physical and electronic posters.

The meeting will be held in the ACC in Liverpool, in the vibrant and beautiful Albert Dock area. It is a 15 minute walk from the city centre. Liverpool is one of the great cities in the world, with facilities, attractions, entertainment and infrastructure to cater for all, whilst also brimming with culture and heritage.

Located in West Derby, Liverpool, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital is one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals and is widely recognised as one of the world leaders in children’s healthcare and research. In 2015, a new state-of-the-art Alder Hey Children’s Hospital opened alongside a brand new research, innovation and education centre. Alder Hey in the Park and the Institute in the Park bring together excellent care, technology and design to provide the best possible healing environment for children and their families.

We look forward to warmly welcoming you to Liverpool in 2021, to participate in a meeting that will be rich in basic and clinical science, and that will allow delegates from around the world to present and discuss their latest findings in an interactive and convivial environment, promoting international collaboration in research and clinical practice.
