As this year comes to a close, I would like to take a few moments to look back at 2025 and share some ESPE highlights from the year.
We delivered four highly successful webinars on a variety of topics: management of monogenic, neonatal and rare forms of diabetes mellitus, diagnostics, Prader-Willi syndrome, and neonatal thyroid, and welcomed nearly 1000 attendees across the year. All replays remain free to view on-demand for ESPE Members.
The first ESPE Connect webinar of 2026 will be held in January, please keep an eye out for registration details.
This year marked a milestone with the first-ever Joint Congress of ESPE and ESE, bringing together the paediatric and adult endocrinology worlds and welcoming an incredible 7,832 attendees and 3,334 abstract submissions. I hope you enjoyed the scientific programme, found the award lectures inspiring, gained valuable insights into adult endocrinology, and most importantly, valued the opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues and to make new friendships and collaborations.
We now look forward to the ESPE 2026 Annual meeting and hope to see you all in Marseilles on 8–10 September 2026. The POC have been busy generating another exciting scientific programme, with plenty of opportunities to network both within the meeting and at the social events. Registration opens mid-January, so please visit the ESPE 2026 website and save the date!
Our face-to-face schools continued to thrive, with the Winter School in Rzeszów, Poland; the Maghreb School in Tunisia; the Caucasus & Central Asia School in Tbilisi, Georgia; and the Summer and DOM Schools in Copenhagen, Denmark.
We published four insightful editions of ESPE News, covering topics from bone disease and paediatric endocrinology in society, to diagnostic approaches and adrenal disorders. All past issues are available on our website for you to explore.
Don’t forget that we are currently accepting nominations for the ESPE Awards until 9th January – if you know of someone making an outstanding contribution to our field, please consider nominating them for one of our prestigious awards.
We are also currently accepting applications for committee vacancies, the Summer School, DOM School, and Bone Academy.
Finally, thank you for being a part of the ESPE Community in 2025, and for all your contributions to the Society. I wish you a joyful festive season and a happy, healthy 2026.
All the very best,
Mehul Dattani
ESPE President
