Even though it is the shortest month of the year, February has been quite eventful for ESPE.
We are currently inviting applications for three positions within ESPE Committees. We are accepting applications for two new members of the Communications Committee, with a deadline of 28 February.
Applications are also open for two leadership roles within the Young ESPE (YES) Group. Find full details of the role on the website and apply by 01 March to join the YES Group leadership!
Finally, we are seeking applications for the Chair of the ESPE Education and Training Committee. You can view the role description and further information on the website. Applications close on 03 March.
We are looking forward to the 2025 ESPE/OSCAR Science Symposium taking place in Paris, France on 18-19 September. This year we will focus on mineralisation of bone and growth plate, towards the development of new therapies. If you would like to submit an abstract, please view the website for full details and note the deadline of 27 April 2025.
The first ever Joint Endo Congress together with the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) is coming up soon on 10-13 May 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Make sure to register to join us at this landmark event – the early bird registration deadline is 27 March. ESPE members also receive reduced registration fees – find full fee details on the website. You can also view the Scientific Programme to ensure you don’t miss a session that’s important to you.
We are also delighted to announce the Joint Endo Congress has been accredited by the EACCME® and will offer a maximum of 15 credits for attendees.
ESPE has also been jointly working with ESE on the EndoCompass Project. This project focuses on identifying specific research needs and opportunities in endocrine health and disease in the coming years, which will guide future research calls and funding programs. It emphasises collaboration among clinical, translational, and basic science experts, as well as the inclusion of patient advocacy groups to ensure that research priorities address real-world experiences. Our ultimate goal is to improve endocrine health by aligning the endocrine community around a common vision and demonstrating the attractiveness of endocrinology research to young researchers. You can find full details of the EndoCompass Project here, or visit the EndoCompass stand at the Joint Endo Congress in May for more information.
We are excited to announce a new ESPE School will be held later this year! The ESPE Moldova School is intended to enable networking and continuous medical education in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes for English-speaking fellows from Moldova, Ukraine, and Romania. Applications will open on 01 March, so please keep an eye on the website for updates.
Remember to save the date for our 18th ESPE Connect Webinar on 24 April, which will bring together expert speakers who will focus on Cushing’s Disease. More details and information on how to register will be available soon!
