ESPE and the entire paediatric endocrinology community are saddened by the devastating situation in Turkey and Syria following the recent earthquake. We stand by our colleagues who have been affected and wish them strength, courage and hope in these difficult times. ESPE will actively support the Turkish Society of Paediatric Endocrinology by way of aid to the region wherever we can.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of French paediatrician and researcher Professor Nathalie Josso, who passed away in November 2022. Her name is linked to the cloning of the Anti-Mullerian Hormone and she conducted many excellent pieces of work on DSD and AMH. She was an active ESPE member and was awarded the ESPE Andrea Prader Prize in 1992. Read the full obituary on the ESPE website. We were also saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Pierre Sizonenko from Geneva, Switzerland. A full obituary will be available to read on the website soon.
We are looking forward to seeing many of the ESPE community at the 11th International Meeting of Paediatric Endocrinology (IMPE) on 4-7 March 2023 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For those not able to travel, we are offering on-demand registration, making IMPE 2023 a truly global meeting. The theme of the meeting is Equal opportunities in paediatric endocrine care around the world, helping to further the development of paediatric endocrinology across the globe. Whether you are a clinician, researcher, nurse, or allied health professional, IMPE 2023 is interesting for you.
Help us build the scientific programme for the ESPE 2024 Meeting! We invite our community to suggest ideas for programme sessions for next year’s meeting in Liverpool, UK. Please send any ideas you have for plenary, symposia and meet the expert sessions to the Events team via the forms on the ESPE website. Your suggestions for topics will help to shape the Meeting – please let us know your thoughts by 31 March.
Applications for the Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism (DOM) school 2023 and the Summer School 2023 are now open! The School aims to provide up-to-date teaching in some selected areas of diabetes, obesity and metabolism and to promote discussions and interactions between young physicians and senior paediatric endocrinologists and to develop future leaders in Paediatric Endocrinology. The School will be held on 24-26 September, after the ESPE 2023 Annual Meeting in The Hague. The submission deadline for applications is 15 May, 2023.
We are eagerly awaiting the 61st ESPE Meeting on 21-23 September in The Hague, The Netherlands. This year’s theme is Global Challenges in Paediatric Endocrinology and we hope to bring together paediatric endocrinologists from around the world.
