As we enjoy the summer sun, plans for the ESPE 2022 Annual Meeting are being finalised and I am looking forward to seeing you all at the beautiful “La Nuvola” Convention Centre. Don’t forget to register: ‘Late & Onsite’ registration rates are available online until Saturday 17 September 2022, which is the last day of the meeting.
ESPE continues to offer free ESPE membership for 2022 for Ukrainian paediatric endocrinologists involved in the treatment of children with endocrine disorders, and free online access to the ESPE 2022 Annual Meeting for Ukrainian ESPE members. Humanitarian organisations such as the Red Cross of Ukraine and UNICEF Ukraine remain steadfast in their support and any donations you are able to give are welcomed. Further information on support for professionsals, patients and parents can also be found on the ESPE website here.
In Rome, don’t miss out on visiting the ESPE Connect membership stand, where we will be highlighting in particular an exciting new initiative, the Young ESPE Group (YES Group). Supporting young endocrinologists who are helping shape the future of paediatric endocrinology is an important part of the ESPE mandate. The YES Group has been established to bring together a community of early career ESPE members, creating an additional support network focused on promoting the visibility and involvement of paediatric endocrinologists at the beginning of their careers, within ESPE. The initiative is a dynamic way to introduce mentoring, career advice and to help identify and encourage future leaders in the discipline. Meet some of the YES Group at the stand and find out more about supporting, or joining, this important initiative. We’ll also be available to answer questions on membership and all other ESPE activities.
Many of our members will also be taking part in ESPE committee meetings while in Rome and we’re grateful for all of the work you do to make ESPE’s activities such a success and to ensure that we’re continually advancing paediatric endocrinology. I also hope to see you at ESPE’s Annual Business Meeting at 18:30 on Friday 16 September.
Until then, don’t forget to visit the ESPE website, which includes many upcoming learning and collaboration opportunities, such as information on the ESPE Science Symposium in October 2022, and applications for the Early Career Scientific Development Grant which are also welcome until the 30 September deadline. Please take a look at the dates and deadlines that appear in every News Alert and also on our website.
Following ESPE 2022, we will be looking forward to IMPE 2023 in Buenos Aires and abstracts are invited for this International Meeting until the deadline of 3 October 2022.
Looking forward to meeting you in Rome, with best wishes,
Anita
ESPE Secretary General
