I hope many of you have been able to enjoy some much deserved respite this summer.
As we prepare for our 2021 ESPE Annual Meeting in September, it is reassuring to see the opportunities for networking and collaboration that are beginning to open back up. There is still time to register for this years meeting, standard registration is open until 7 September and late registration remains open until 26 September. Registration includes all of the sessions via the ESPE 2021 Online Meeting platform live and on demand after the meeting for a limited time.
The decision to move the Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia Science Symposium online this October has been carefully considered, and the benefits of holding it outweigh the disappointment some of us feel at not getting together physically yet. This is set to be a fantastic symposium with an engaging programme of speakers. We look forward to hosting this event virtually and further details on this will be available on the website in due course.
If you follow the News on the ESPE website, you will have seen the recent piece on the European Health Data Space Consultation. ESPE’s joint statement with ESE, Endo-ERN and EuRRECa is in response to the initiative to further facilitate health-data exchange within and across European countries. It is interesting so I encourage you to take a look.
Also on the website are some fantastic opportunities, including The Early Career Scientific Development Grant, which offers financial support to Paediatric Endocrinologists and basic scientists for research or laboratory technique experience. It has a deadline of September 30 so be sure to apply now to avoid disappointment.
The Annual Business Meeting will also be held virtually on 13 September at 15:00 CEST, the agenda and other supporting documents have recently been circulated via email. It is a great opportunity to stay up to date on the ESPEs updates and future plans, registration will be available soon.
And finally, as an ESPE member, you will have received emails from the office updating you on the new membership categories being introduced from 2022. Renewal of your membership will be due in October so please do check your new category beforing renewing to ensure it is correct.
My best wishes,
Anita
ESPE Secretary General
