I hope you, your family and colleagues are well.
ESPE Council continues to monitor the current global situation and we recently held an additional Council meeting, to ensure that we are responding in the best possible way . Many of our dedicated Council and Committee members have been working hard to adapt ESPE’s activities and to continue to provide our members and the paediatric endocrine community with helpful and relevant information.
You may already have seen on our website and social media channels that we are planning online content for this autumn in the absence of our Annual Meeting this year. A dedicated task force has been drawing up a programme of informative sessions which, due to the exceptional circumstances this year, will be freely available online. These will be different from our full programme in Liverpool in May 2021 and have been developed to provide you with new scientific and clinically relevant information and an additional opportunity to engage with ESPE and the paediatric endocrine community this year. Sessions will address different specialist and general topics and interactive Q&A sessions will also be included. Look out for more details of ESPE Connect Online 2020 coming soon.
Our Clinical Practice Committee is also working hard to provide a selection of resources for patients and clinicians regarding the impact of COVID-19 on paedicatric endocrine conditions. As soon as these are finalised we will collate these and any other relevant resources into one web page focused on COVID-19.
While we will not be meeting in person in September, ESPE members are still invited to come together for a full update on our activities at our virtual Annual Business Meeting, which will be held on 11 September as planned. The ESPE Team will shortly circulate the agenda and details for easily joining the meeting. As always, we will announce our new Council members, give you a sneak preview of our upcoming annual meetings and plans and report back on ESPE’s activities and finances. We welcome your attendance at this meeting.
As ever, we encourage your feedback and suggestions and the ESPE Team continues to be available to support our members.
I send you all my very best wishes,
Anita
ESPE Secretary General
