Following the success of our first in-person Annual Meeting for three years, I wanted to draw your attention to the On-Demand content that is still available for all registered participants. If you attended the meeting in Rome and missed any sessions, you can still access the content online for six months after the meeting. Similarly, if you registered as an online only participant, the content is still available to you.
The postponed International Meeting of Pediatric Endocrinology will be taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 4-7 March 2023. The abstract deadline has been extended so you now have until Monday 7 November to submit your research abstract. The meeting is an excellent opportunity to meet colleagues from around the world and collaborate internationally.
Our 2023 awards are open for nominations until 10 December 2022. There are opportunities to celebrate clinical and scientific achievements at various career stages so do consider nominating a colleague or putting yourself forward for one of our prestigious awards.
As many of you will have heard during the ABM in Rome, ESPE is moving its association management services (membership, grants, committee management, website and strategic support) from Bioscientifica to MCI. The new contract will begin on the 1 January 2023, with the Bioscientifica team providing services up until the 31 December 2022. Your membership renewal for the 2023 membership year will be managed by MCI and you will receive more information about this process in due course.
We have a number of upcoming committee vacancies, providing another opportunity for you to get more involved in our society. As an ESPE committee member you can bring your experience to a number of different areas and broaden your skills and connections. Coming up are opportunities to get involved in the ESPE Research Unit, Research Fellowship, Clinical Fellowship and our webinar series, among other things. Please visit our website for the latest vacancies.
Last year we launched our Affiliated Societies Scheme, which brings together national paediatric endocrine societies from around Europe, to find opportunities to better collaborate and share information. During ESPE 2022 in Rome, I was pleased to host the first meeting of those societies to discuss ways in which we could work together. We discussed a number of issues that are common to several countries and will take these forward to understand how ESPE can best support the national societies.
As always, please take a look at the dates and deadlines that appear in every News Alert and also on our website to ensure you don’t miss out.
My best wishes,
Anita
ESPE President
